While Lorilee will be posting daily, I hope to post at least once a week about what's going on in MY oiling life. Being able to share in this way is a great way to stop and really look at all that is possible with integrating essential oils into our daily lives.
Lorilee has spoken often in earlier posts about her recent experience with using oils to aid in the passing of a friend and client. As a witness to that experience, I can only say, it was humbling. It was also a blessing to be able to offer something that not only brought noticeable relief to the person in transition from this life but also to see and feel what it did for the caregivers as they watched and supported their dear friend and were faced with their own emotions during this time.
I think the thing the struck me most was the impact of having a very different experience with the 'smell of death'. For those that have experienced this with others, you know what I mean. This isn't about hygiene, this is about a smell that comes with the coming end...kind of like smelling a storm coming I think. By introducing the oils via topical application and diffusing, the 'smell' was so much lighter. More gracious and freeing, more sacred. For everyone that came through that space as well as for the sweet soul that was transitioning.
I'm not sure this will make sense to anyone other then myself and maybe a few that were there but it was something that struck me and I wanted to share. Just another thing to add to the list of the life changing observations that have happened since beginning using these oils early in 2014.
Personally, my oiling life this week has included a lot of Thieves, peppermint, oregano and Deep Relief as I navigate a tired body and spirit and support my immune system during the days of travel.
Another thing I am experimenting with is the Lavender shampoo and conditioner that Lorilee mentioned she lent me. I have super sensitive skin and finding hair care products has been an ongoing challenge for years. I have had some success with the Copiaba Vanilla products but with my hair it was a bit heavy over time. My scalp however loved it! No breakouts or itching. Switching to the Lavender so far has been a wonderful success. My hair is light and happy and I am watching my scalp for any signs of issues...so far, so good!
There we go, first blog post of the new year! Yay me! :) Comment with any questions and have a wonderful week.
Bright Blessings,
Katt
